When your appendix gets inflamed, you have appendicitis. It can be either acute or chronic in nature.The pain in your lower right abdomen is caused by appendicitis. In most people, however, pain starts around the navel and then spreads. Appendicitis pain usually worsens as the inflammation worsens, gradually becoming intense.Appendicitis may affect anyone, but it is most common in people between the ages of 10 and 30.
