The treatment for thyroid disorders helps restore normal thyroid hormone levels in the body. The procedure will be performed on an outpatient basis and requires careful monitoring of thyroid hormone levels following treatment. Two most common thyroid disorders are hypothyroidism – underactive thyroid, and hyperthyroidism – overactive thyroid.

In severe cases, the surgical removal of all or part of the thyroid gland is necessary. This surgery is known as thyroidectomy. It is often performed when treating thyroid cancer or in cases of large goitres, suspicious nodules, or severe hyperthyroidism. Our surgeon will review your medical history, including any medications the patient is taking and any allergies they might have. During the procedure, incisions are made and the surgeon safely removes the thyroid gland. The surgeon will then provide specific instructions for postoperative care and medications to manage any discomfort or pain during the recovery period.
